The 50s rate, it was THAT great!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My husband loved his 50s box of old candies. We kept looking at all the candy saying, “Remember this one, remember that one? That one was MY favorite! That one is My favorite!” My husband would not share his candy (for the first time) as he savored every bite. I did get one box of candy from him. That violet flower-scented gum which was MY favorite from my childhood days. He absolutely loved this gift and I will buy again in the future. If you want a box of fun, this IS IT!

I purchased this fun box of memories for my husband’s 68th birthday. I am 58. We spent about an hour going through the box and examining and talking about each candy. He remembered some, I remembered some and we both remembered a lot of them. I’m not sure what we’ll do with all of the candy when we’re finished sharing the fun with our friends……maybe we’ll have to eat it

Hometown Favorites is NOT a favorite of mine, and I will never buy from them again. This product is not worth $29.95 plus $21.10 shipping & handling. There were 7 candies missing with only 1 substitution. The company, Hometown Favorites, reserved the right to substitute, but they didn’t deliver. It arrives in a no frills box with no filler of any kind inside to make it presentable. My event is in a few days, so I will re-package it myself. One of the other reviewers said that she tried to contact them and they never responded. I won’t waste my time. 50′s Decade Box Gift Basket – Classic 50′s Candy

My Dad loved this box of memories. There was a ton of candy and included lots of things he hadn’t seen since he was a kid.

My parents were very nostalgic

Disclosure: I never saw this product. It was a gift for mother, who lives in another state. However, she, my father, and her friends apparently spent quite a while reminiscing over the boxes contents….which was kinda the point of sending it.

Last Christmas I ordered a package for each member of my family, appropriate for their particular decade. As we’re getting into our 50′s and 60′s it’s more and more difficult to buy for one another. This was the perfect gift in that it triggered countless happy memories, memories they shared with their spouses and children. The kids liked the gift because it drew out memories their parents hadn’t shared before. An unexpected holiday hit, that’s for sure.

I bought this for my Dad, a man who already has everything he needs. The gift basket gave him a trip down memory lane. His face lit up when he opened it. He went on to share with me stories of his childhood. It was a great moment and a perfect gift.

50′s Candy makes an Old Man Smile

My father in law has Parkinson’s and other issues. When he opened the box of 50′s candy on Christmas, he smiled and stated “I remember these penny candies”. He has been showing everyone that stops by about these candies and smiles. This was a the perfect gift! Thanks

I purchased this item for my grandma this last Christmas. She thought it was pretty neat and it brought back some memories for her. Overall it’s a great concept and for the right person it’s a great gift. I was a bit frustrated with the contents being a mess and some of the candy packages were opened or the candy was smashed to powder. A little packaging improvement (and some bubble wrap or foam) would go a long way!

Eh…. it was okay

This product was okay. The Moon-Pie was pretty bashed up and some of the taffy-like candy was VERY hard, maybe stale. I bought it as a gift for the nostalgia, and that is pretty much all it was.
Buy it for someone from the 50′s, but don’t expect really good, fresh, candy.

ASIN: B0001VSA2I We bought this gift for our friend who LOVES candy and was celebrating his 60th birthday-the box was heavy and full of a variety of candy from his youth. He enjoyed not only eating the candy but, the memories that went along with each piece. We will definitely order this again.

I bought this for my father for Father’s Day and he absolutley LOVED it! Everyone thought it was such a great and unique gift. My dad along with my aunt and uncle went through the box of candy with huge smiles and lots of “Oh my gosh! Remember these?” There was ALOT of candy in that box! I didn’t expect it to be that much!

We bought this gift for my dad for his birthday. He absolutly loved it! It’s a great gift for any occasion. It was actually bigger then we thought it would be also. All of the candy was great and NONE were broken or smashed! I would recommend this item to everyone!
