deep fryer. digital ok
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
had a delonghi for 10 years switch went bad. got this one and i am impressed that 4 minutes from frozen to edible French fries! however i lilke crucnhy and you need to play around with it off of the automatic settings from 00-10 as the heat does not work on the timer. manual settingsa are better for crispier. i would recommend but at least it really does get to 375 before doing anything else.

Buy this fryer!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was formerly a professional cook. I worked in restaurants and catering for 17 years. A person gets spoiled cooking with good equipment at work. It can be disappointing to go home and try to cook with standard household equipment, both in efficiency and results. I try to buy the best kitchen equipment I can afford.
When I chose this fryer, I deliberated for days. When it arrived and I examined the device, I was pretty sure I had chosen wisely. The heating elements and mechanisms reminded me of a small scale restaurant quality fryer.
The first time we used it, we had a fish fry for 6 people with fried pickles, onion rings, and ocean perch. Awesome! I was not disappointed. The unit worked flawlessly. The unit comes with two half baskets and a single large basket which were perfect for the different combinations of items we were frying. Our batters were fried crip, the unit maintained good temps, there was no burning, heat was evenly distributed, clean up was easy.
One side note, frying in your home will make your home smell like KFC or Long John Silvers, depending on what you are frying. It will linger for days. I use it outside on the deck to avoid this problem.
The construction is simple and the unit is fairly attractive if you like the look of professional grade stainless equipment. You can’t go wrong with this one! Buy it. Buy it now. What are you waiting for?

Excellent Fryer
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Purchased this Deep Fryer after reviewing several different models. For the price, this fryer is an excellent purchase. We have used this fryer frequently. The digital controls and pre-programed modes are very easy to use. Very easy to keep clean. Best fryer we have purchased is several years.

Great Product

I am a college student moving into an apartment and bought this fryer to make some of my favorite foods (WINGS!). After using it to make a huge batch of wings that came out restaurant quality, I knew this was a good buy. All of the foods I have cooked so far have come out great, and the price cannot be beaten. When I was shopping around for a good deep fryer, I was a little nervous at buying this one as well as many others because many people said that it could not hold a temperature very well. However, all of the deep fryers in this class cannot hold a temperature well. My advice is to go ahead and purchase one because even though the temperature drops, the food still comes out the way you want it every time.

Great bargain for the price

I gave this to my husband for his birthday because he loves fresh cut fries and always bemoans the fact that most restaurants don’t have them. Now he can make his own! So far he’s made fried shrimp, donuts, and french fries, and they’ve all come out beautifully. We used canola oil and I was so impressed by the non-greasiness of the foods we made with it. The temperature gauge is very accurate and also will let you know if the oil is cool enough to pour back into the bottle (if you’re recycling; we do, and it hasn’t affected the taste of the later fryings). I highly recommend it!

Works great if you cook everything on 375
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is a great fryer as far as cooking goes. However, the timer and temperature settings are next to impossible to set. Maybe I just got a bad one, as others seem to not have any problems. Also, the controls are right over where the hot steam comes out if you have the lid on, so getting burned is easy to do. I wish I had bought one that had one simple dial to set temperature and a light to come on when that setting was reached. I don’t mind using my watch to time.

A Great product and much bigger than it looks in picture!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The picture does not do this justice. It has a deep liner and both the large basket or two small baskets.
Very well made. Keeps temperature. An excellent product.

Dual Basket Deep FryerI
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I like this fryer. For some reason it really cooks the food quickly. I like being able to cook two separate items with different cooking times. Using the double basket I start one item first then add another item in the other basket. The only negative I see is the fryer seems to drop in temp by about 30 – 50 degrees when I add a food item. It still cooks great though. The digital temp is nice too.

Looks Nice and Works Well
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really liked this product. I bought it for my 12 year-old son who has really been enjoying cooking. I wanted something that would let him make fries, donuts, etc. without making such a mess. This really worked well, and it looks nice on the counter when not in use.

Save your time,I researched all of them!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
OK,Let me save you alot of time. I am a review nut who does weeks of homework on any product I buy. I MEAN EVERY PRODUCT! I had a Delongi roto fryer,it was my second one,but the second lasted much less time than the first one. They are making them cheaper (quality wise). So I set out to find a better fryer and one that could cook more food. We are a family of three, and had to do multiple batches with the delongi. After dozens I reviewed on line and in the stores,I found this fryer, and I’m SO glad I did!
JUST BUY IT!
It does huge amounts of food, holds very hot temps.,and is very well designed! We love the versitle dual baskets, and the one huge basket.Easy clean, and is nice enough looking to stay on the counter!
Add in the fact that it’s from Amazon, and you can’t lose!

Aroma ADF-212 Smart Fry XL Digital Dual Basket Deep Fryerreceived it and used it for the 1 st. time on 05/29/09. cooked french frys and blue gill fish. it worked great. the controls are easy to use if you read the instructions. the oil came up to 375 degrees in 23 minutes from cold cooked the fish for 3 minutes in 2 batches their were 31 pieces they came out perfect then I cooked 2 lbs. of frozen fries and they came out perfect. I could only give it 4 stars because when I put the frozen fries in the temperature droped to 295 degrees and never got above 300 degrees by the time the fries were done, but they were not greasey. the fryer takes 5 qts. of oil. so I also ordered the stainless steel strainer with filter this worked perfect for straining the oil to save it and reuse. this replaced a 3 qt. T-Fal fryer I had. I fed 5 hungry people

Aroma Not So Smart Deep Fryer
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Used it about 9 times top before it started giving me an Er on the display and a beep. It worked about 2 more times before it quit completely. Now it is a big door stop. Did more research on the web and see others have this same issue. Gave up and bought a Fry Daddy. Hope it works better. Aroma is junk! Buy anything else, or eat out. It’s less expensive than throwing away your money on this one.

Would buy again !
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is the 3rd deep fryer I’ve purchased over the years and by far the best and my favorite. I was initially hesitant to buy because I was unfamiliar with the brand – but this fryer outperforms more familiar brand names I’ve had experiences with.
THINGS I LOVE :
- the initial price was very reasonable
- The digital display allows for easy temp setting – shows you the temps progression – and beeps when it is at temp
- Gets up to temp very quickly and maintains that temp very well once you start cooking
- the choice of basket sizes – either 1 large or 2 smaller – simplifies cooking multiple items or satisfies larger quantities
- the machine comes apart very easily for quick cleaning
- everything I’ve cooked so far has come out perfect – from french fries to jalepeno poppers to chicken strips
THINGS THAT I WOULD CHANGE :
- the lid should be hinged to the machine rather than simply lifting off
- it would be nice if the basket handles folded flat – a personal preference – I have a tendency to knock into them
All and all I love this deep fryer and would buy another in a minute – funny thing is, I probably won’t have too !
